Oversee the many fellowships and grants that the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies offers to Harvard students and faculty and also oversees the Center's active series of public events.

Member of the senior management team responsible for external relations, institutional advancement, and educational outreach at Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies, which advances understanding of housing issues and informs housing-related policy discussions.

Developed, organized, and co-taught “Reinventing and Reimagining Boston: The Changing American City,” an interdisciplinary “General Education” undergraduate class that introduced undergraduates to a variety of urban issues.

Worked with Radcliffe’s Academic Ventures initiative to develop and carry out the Boston Area Research Initiative (BARI), an innovative effort to better link social science research and policy development in greater Boston. Co-editor of the new BARI website (http://www.bostonarearesearchinitiative.net/).

Clients included the Boston Foundation, the Barr Foundation, Massport, and the Volvo Research and Education Foundations (VREF). Wrote or edited a variety of materials on transportation policy including case studies on the transformation of New York City's streets and on building a transit coalition in Los Angeles County, both written for the project on Transforming Urban Transport: The Role of Political Leadership, which is based at Harvard's Graduate School of Design with funding from VREF. Have also written Harvard Kennedy School teaching cases on efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in California, and extending the MBTA's Green Line through Somerville to Medford.

Developed and co-taught graduate-level course in Transportation Policymaking focused on helping students learn how think analytically and strategically about key issues in urban transportation. (Co-taught with Steve Miller)

Organized and moderated Spring 2016 sessions of Northeastern University’s Myra Kraft Open Classroom, a weekly series of presentations and panel discussions open to the public. Sessions, which drew 50-75 attendees, brought together officials, civic leaders, and scholars to discuss issues related to the City of Boston’s “Imagine Boston 2030” initiative, which seeks to create Boston’s first comprehensive citywide plan in 50 years.

Oversaw all aspects of a university-wide center dedicated to improving the governance of Greater Boston by strengthening connections between the region’s scholars, students, public officials, and civic leaders.

Co-taught “Urban Politics and Land-Use Policy,” a graduate course for students of urban policy and planning.

Carried out research on infrastructure and land-use policies and was responsible for publications, events, and the website for a research center focused on a variety of issues facing state and local governments.

Wrote quarterly column on infrastructure issues for the nation's largest magazine focused on state and local government
