Developed web based training material, using Viewlets to provide flash animations for step-by-step visual instructions. Developed and tested “Use Cases” to assure successful implementation. CV6: Developed methods, processes and procedures to implement CATIA V6 / ENOVIA. Supported Tool Design, N/C Programming, Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering with the training and skills necessary for a successful implementation. Established processes for Standard Part and Material Library implementation. Identified Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) opportunities.

• Producibility: Provided manufacturing expertise in support of engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to ensure producibility of designs and implementation plans. Reviewed designs and provided GD&T recommendations to support manufacturing processes. Provided supplier technical support, supplier quality audits, corrective action plans and FAI plans. Led and promoted Lean/Continuous Improvement activity to improve efficiency, reduce costs and ensure product affordability. Conducted trade studies and business case development for changes to product design, materials, processes, specifications, and tooling. Facilitated technology insertion that resulted in lower total costs.• Cost Reduction / Affordability: Developed and led the Affordability Cost Reduction Process on the C-17 program. This process identified Cost Reduction Candidates (CRC) relating to design, process or specification improvements. Each CRC was pre evaluated with my “producibility” cost savings estimate. Following program management approval of the anticipated CRC cost/benefit, a formal estimate was conducted for a Budget Baseline Revision (BBR). The C-17 cost reduction affordability process led to over $105M in hard savings to the program and was recognize by the customer with the Silver Eagle Award as a very successful initiative.• Research & Development: Seeking continuous improvement through application of existing and new technologies in new and innovative application in the aerospace manufacturing processes. Topics include: Determinate Assembly and Laser Projection technologies to reduce or eliminate tooling requirements, Legacy Data Conversion to bring old 2D mylar engineering definitions to 3D, Reverse Engineering technologies, 3Dshape based search technology to find and eliminate part duplication by shape, statistic process controls, metrology engineer interface technology, CATIA CAD/CAM knowledge based engineering.
