September, 2024 - board elected President We are a nonprofit corporation based in North Texas with a dual mission of providing services for people with disabilities so they are empowered to lead self-directed, productive lives and educating the general public about any and all disability-related topics to promote a barrier free community.In order to accomplish this mission, REACH operates the REACH Resource Centers for Independent Living in Fort Worth, Dallas, Denton and Plano.

The State Independent Living Council is comprised of a majority of people with disabilities, with at least one Executive Director of a Center for Independent Living in Texas and an ex-officio member from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. All members are appointed by the Governor of Texas. The SILC leads, promotes, and advances an Independent Living philosophy while advocating for the rights of individuals with disabilities
