David is a Founding Member and Executive Director of the DVMS Institute LLC. He is the lead author of the "Digital Value Management System®" series. The first two books in this series, *Fundamentals of Adopting the NIST Cybersecurity Framework* and *A Practitioner’s Guide to Adapting the NIST Cybersecurity Framework*, are currently available. An upcoming business book titled *Thriving on the Edge of Chaos* is scheduled for release in 2025 by TSO.Some of David's pioneering efforts occurred before the terms "service management" and "agile" were part of the IT lexicon. While working on a complex program for a prime contractor of the U.S. Department of Defense, he successfully turned around a project 18 months behind schedule. By addressing organizational and cultural dynamics, he created and led a high-performing team to complete the project within 9 months.Out of necessity, the team “invented” innovative methods, now recognized as part of ITIL and Kanban practices. These methods included managing changes, development, testing, and deployment through small incremental, feedback-driven iterations. Their approach, visualized with corkboards, thumbtacks, and 4x6 cards, laid the groundwork for what the Institute now calls the DVMS FastTrack Approach.Based on necessity, the team developed innovative methods that are now recognized as part of ITIL and Kanban.
