In this role, I produce audio episodes from ideation to execution for The L&S Exchange Podcast, including research, booking, recording in the studio and field, and shaping raw material into a compelling listen. I coordinate guests in the studio and remote locations, work with editorial stakeholders from the IDC and college, and manage a team of collaborators and associate producers. I enjoy bringing a spirit of collaboration and a vision to create compelling and relevant new work in higher ed. audio.

In addition to my full-time role with the College of Letters & Science, I teach a section of Counseling Psychology 125, an interactive seminar designed to support incoming UW-Madison freshmen and transfer students as they transition to college. This face-to-face course fosters both academic growth and personal well-being, helping students connect with the campus and greater Madison community. In my third year, I also took on a voluntary leadership role, facilitating the instructor support meeting to guide fellow educators. The course is part of the Office of Student Transition and Family Engagement's commitment to holistic student success.

For over 13 years, I developed strategic frameworks and instructional materials to advance in-person, online, and blended learning initiatives. With a specialized focus on multimedia, I provided high-level consultation and production services across the College of Letters & Science, ensuring the seamless integration of technology into the curriculum. I also directed media development and oversaw departmental production facilities, guiding the creation of innovative educational content and fostering a culture of excellence in digital pedagogy.

For over two decades, I’ve independently produced creative multimedia, including the award-winning documentary The Round Barns of Vernon County. As the creator behind the YouTube channel Folktopia, I regularly produce engaging social media content. My work spans video, audio, and photography across a range of genres, from advertising and outreach to instructional media. Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated on projects that have earned six Addy Awards, reflecting a consistent commitment to quality and creativity in every endeavor.

Great Falls, Montana, Us

At the University of Providence (formerly, University of Great Falls), a small private liberal arts university, I spearheaded the creation of print, web, and video materials to drive communication and outreach efforts. I led design projects in collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, including community partners like offset printers and newspaper representatives, as well as internal teams of creatives, administrators, faculty, staff, coaches, and students. During my tenure, I played a key role in shaping UGF's entire communications portfolio—spanning billboards, newspapers, magazines, radio, web, interactive media, broadcast television, and internal print materials—ensuring a cohesive and impactful brand presence across all platforms.

I led the establishment of the Missoula Outdoor Cinema, a beloved neighborhood initiative now in its 22nd year, as part of the North-Missoula Community Development Corporation. This community-driven event offers free outdoor entertainment in a welcoming neighborhood setting on Missoula's north side. My role encompassed everything from the technology and equipment to sponsorship development and film programming to multimedia design, volunteer coordination, and social media production. I also led marketing and publicity efforts, ensuring the cinema's continued success, and even handled the hands-on task of hoisting a large fabric screen onto the Head Start school building.

I instructed Media Arts 111: Fundamentals of Media Arts Production for five semesters, including solo teaching during Summer Term 2004. Selected by faculty to lead the course in my first semester of graduate school, I developed and delivered lectures, designed tutorials, led critique sessions, and guided student learning through dynamic discussions and special topics presentations.

I administered a Points of Light Foundation grant aimed at encouraging individuals with disabilities to engage in meaningful community service projects. My responsibilities included managing the budget, overseeing outcome-based reporting, and developing impactful service initiatives. I also created awareness campaigns and promotional materials for TV, radio, and print media. Additionally, I established and led a steering committee composed of key leaders from the disabilities field to guide and sustain the project’s success.

After starting as a participant in a statewide national service program, I advanced to manage its day-to-day operations, overseeing a team of AmeriCorps members across the state. In this leadership role, I provided technical assistance, training, consultation, and direct supervision to ensure the success and growth of both individual members and the program as a whole. I spearheaded national recruitment efforts, designing impactful marketing campaigns and creating supporting materials to attract top talent. Over the course of two years, I led initiatives that directly improved conditions for individuals and families in Montana communities, overseeing over 50 service projects that addressed critical needs in education, housing, and environmental restoration. My work not only strengthened the program’s reach but also fostered sustainable community development and meaningful change.

In my second term of national service, I advanced into a leadership role, managing a team of eight national service members. I coordinated team activities, provided guidance on regional volunteer recruitment initiatives, and facilitated conflict resolution, ensuring a collaborative and productive environment. I also developed and implemented volunteer management training sessions and presentations to strengthen the capacity of both the team and community partners. Additionally, I played an active role in our team’s direct service projects, culminating in a large-scale wetland restoration effort that served as the capstone project of our term, marking a successful conclusion to our service.

As part of a national service initiative, I led statewide recruitment campaigns that brought in over 100 mentors to support Montana foster youth, strengthening mentorship opportunities across the state. In addition to recruitment, I coordinated and participated in various direct service projects, including youth education, construction, and habitat restoration. These efforts advanced both community development and environmental goals while fostering meaningful connections between volunteers and foster youth.
