From concept to fruition oversaw and managed the selection of vendors, contractors, and overall construction of the Unity Cable Landing in Los Angeles, Ca., and the Unity US DWDM Backhaul Network on behalf of the Unity Consortium consisting of Pacnet, Google, KDDI, SingTel, Bharti, and Global Transit. ➢ Provided strategy, acquisition, and engineering expertise for all Network Deployments, including all associated Subsea, Metro/Long-haul Dark Fiber and/or DWDM Deployments, which included overseeing and coordinating the concept, design, research, and analysis of known fiber routes and associated vendors, as well as multiple optical transport equipment vendors, which led to the RFP’s, negotiations, contracting, engineering, construction and/or installation, and management all associated vendors end-to-end on behalf of the Unity Parties. ➢ Voted by Unity partners as the Systems Manager, and over all Single Point of Contact to the Unity Parties; a multi-national team of OTT’s, telco companies, and their associated executives and managers, as well as to all vendors and contractors to ensure proper and on-time construction and maintenance of the Unity Cable system. ➢ Managed a team of network engineers responsible for the stable operation of the Pacnet and Unity applications and services. ➢ Project managed the deployment of multiple new Pacnet POPs and equipment in the US and in Europe. Oversaw Pacnet carrier operations, engineering, and capacity management in the US & Europe. ➢ Collaborated cross-functionally and strategically planned with IT, Operations, Engineering, Sales, Implementation, and multiple other business units to meet internal and customer network requirements.

Managed and held full responsibility of a 48,000 sqft Data Center/Colocation Facility, 18 remote POP sites, and over 1800 route miles of fiber optic cable. ➢ Collaborated cross-functionally and strategic planning with IT, Operations, Engineering, Sales, Implementation, and multiple other business units to meet internal and customer network requirements. ➢ Spearheaded new site turn ups, colocation installations and building development. Orchestrated and executed OA&M of a global operations data center and 18 POP sites including remote nodes, regen sites and amp/repeater huts from Fresno to the Oregon border. ➢ Verified and managed facility functionality of all data center ancillaries including HVAC / Chillers, MAUs (make-up air units), fire suppression systems, AC/DC power plants consisting of emergency generators/GENSETs, UPS, liquid and gel cell batteries, designed and implemented security initiatives, and provided cross-functional training and development for employees. ➢ Directed all operations for installation and service provisioning of internal and customer infrastructure within the data center, including company and customer equipment installations, optical fiber and copper cabling, while maintaining OSHA Standards & Zone 4 Earthquake compliance. ➢ Maintained and upgraded services by implementing and monitoring network management tools, created schedules for testing and maintenance, performed remote access administration and connectivity, lead troubleshooting efforts and provided second-level support, wrote networking environment policies and procedures, enforced compliance to standards, trained operators, prepared disaster recovery plans, evaluated new software and hardware, implemented upgrades, and updated records. ➢ Completed and executed feasibility studies, cost/benefit, and impact analyses as needed.
