Since I last updated my profile, I have "retired" from my previous role with The Center for Creative Leadership and more recently have stumbled into a role that has been calling me for much of my life but I hadn't realized. I'm directing the Mosaic program for ICS which taps many of my skills, including design, innovation, facilitation, and coaching. The one that was underneath the surface for a long time has surfaced: that of understanding, appreciating and bridging differences by building trust between people who are different in many ways - including ethnically. Previously I had come to realize that my profession is Designer. As a designer of leadership and innovation developmental experiences (more recently as a designer of on line experiences). I entered the computer industry as a designer of computer systems and through various management and domain shifts in ICL became an expert in making ideas happen. What is sometimes called innovation. All this time I exhibited both creative and artistic flair. I had been a musician since a teenager and never let that go even while I was a computer engineer. My latest interest in a passion for helping others make things happen and making meaning of their lives in the process. I have been an innovator all my life originally in a more technological sense and in the last 17 years as a designer and facilitator of creative leadership and innovation development experiences and as co-author of The Leader's Edge: 6 Creative Competencies for Navigating Complex Challenge and co-inventor of the tools: Visual Explorer®; Metaphor Explorer™; Wisdom Explorer™; Targeted Innovation Toolkit™; and Transformations™One of the places that my exploratory nature has taken me is The Creative Education Foundation® - Where Brainstorming Began™ I was honoured to be The Chairman of the Board of Trustees for this noble organization from 2004 to 2011.
