David is a co-founder of Branching Minds, a venture and philanthropy backed technology company that currently serves more than 1 million students in the U.S. Our core product is a web-based platform that streamlines intervention for schools and personalizes intervention for students.He has been working within the business and legal world, with a particular focus on tech and startups, for over 12 years. Along the way, he has developed significant expertise in entrepreneurship, strategy, product development, vision setting and partnership negotiation.Previously, David founded Couptivate, a consumer web startup and has also worked with a number of companies in the New York startup ecosystem, including GateGuru (acquired by TripAdvisor), on both business and legal issues. He also spent time honing his legal skills as an attorney in the Private Equity group at Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP, widely recognized as the top private equity fund practice in the world.David received a JD from the Emory University School of Law and a certificate in Intellectual Property Studies from a joint program between Emory University and Georgia Tech. While at Emory, David served as Articles Editor of the Law Review and authored an article on domain name regulation that was published in idea: The Intellectual Property Law Review and subsequently cited by numerous academics and students. He was educated at the University of Pennsylvania, where he wrote for the Daily Pennsylvanian. David grew up in Manhattan and attended the Ethical Culture Fieldston School.
