As Chief Engineer I am managing a team of engineers on a very busy and private 73 meter yacht.Working with management to plan the winter yard period, including dry dock and potential extensions to the superstructure while making sure all class and safety requirements are met. Redesigning and upgrading technical systems to make room for a new ballast water treatment plant.Implementing and improving the new IDEA planned maintenance system, ensuring all engineers are using the system to its full potential.

As Chief Engineer, I am responsible for all technical and safety related issues onboard. After joining the yacht soon after it was sold I have spent a lot of time making new procedures and checklists, to ensure the vessel makes the smooth transition from private to charter.

As 1st Engineer, I am responsible for managing daily on-board duties including hotel equipment, tenders, hydraulics and deck machinery as well as supporting and taking over responsibilities of the Chief Engineer. I am instrumental in working with a very large engine room team on an extremely busy and challenging yacht.

As 2nd Engineer, I was responsible for carrying out all planned and breakdown maintenance including the engine room, guest and crew areas as well as deck machinery and tenders. I organised all spares on-board, and was involved in purchasing when required.

I served as a 3rd Engineer on board Motor Yacht A including watch keeping duties at sea and UMS in port. This was a good introduction to the yachting industry and I gained strong experience during extremely busy guest trips while travelling to a wide range of destinations.

After a 3 year cadetship I was employed as a 3rd Officer Engineer on board various RFA vessels. On board responsibilities were to hold a regular watch at sea and in port, and to manage the safe operation of the vessel. I sailed on a wide variety of vessels ranging from large 2 stroke Sulzer engines to smaller 4 stroke Pielsticks. I have sailed on ships using a high voltage diesel electric system with Wartsila diesel generators.
