Lead System Architecture Audit – Oracle RAC Audit – U.S.A. Government DepartmentCSC Public Sector was implementing a major Data Center migration including upgrades of hardware and up level of Database Software to Oracle RAC. CSC and the US Government Department requested a detailed audit of the database RAC implementation, migration plan, configuration, and risk assessment. Working with the CSC architecture team I conducted a deep dive including installation logs, configuration specifications, application designs, and risk mitigation plans and provided a detailed audit including gap analysis. I also provided standby support and oversight during the migration process to insure against any issues that might develop. The migration and installation went without incident.System Architect Trusted Advisor – Database SME -SAN SME – Australian Government DepartmentCSC Public Sector Australia was hosting Data Centers for the Australian Government. Oracle Corporation provided a strategy for migration to Oracle latest technology including 11gR2 and EXADATA, including upgrades of hardware and up level of Oracle Database Software to Oracle 11gR2 GRID. CSC and the Australian Government Department requested an evaluation of the Oracle Strategy including the implementation, migration plan, configuration, and risk assessment plan. Working with the CSC Australian Data Center team I conducted a deep dive evaluation of Oracle’s Strategy and met with the key decision makers with CSC and the Government. I answered questions and provided insights in meetings. Presented a detailed comparison of the Oracle Strategy along with an alternative strategy to accomplish the goals of the Government, this included a comparative analysis and cost analysis of the VCE vs. Exadata approach both using the Oracle 11g Grid approach.
