Now at Southbridge Public Schools, I continue to research and stay active in band directing, music education and composing for educational ensembles. I am composing, taking commissions and conducting in the Charlotte, NC area. I have recently resigned from the position of Director of Bands at Texas A&M International University, Laredo, Texas. Prior to that, I served as Associate Professor of Music Education at West Liberty State College in Wheeling, WV. In these positions, I work(ed) for both the Music Division (conducting the bands, teaching music education methods courses, supervising student teachers and general music courses, such as Appreciation), and the Enrollment Management Office (serving on the senior management team, recruiting, school visits and conducting school clinics).I have conducted band, choir, orchestra and wind ensemble since my first high school job in Ohio. Among those successes have been many chamber ensembles ranging from the Octet I conducted at the University of Dayton and the 9-member touring Sinfonietta at a recent position, to the medium-sized concert bands at Bridgewater State College and Wingate University. I have been fortunate to have conducted many large ensembles as a guest conductor, such as Union County in North Carolina. 2008 has taken me to Beaufort and Columbus counties to conduct their All-County Honors Bands.I recently conducted the Texas Region XIV Freshman Band, where the 100 piece ensemble premiered my "Los Cielos Enojados" for concert band. I continue to compose for choir, orchestra and band, both for commissioned guest appearances and for the joy of sharing music with school ensembles.Specialties: I have performed in pits as a woodwind doubler throughout Massachusetts, including the Zeiterion Theater in New Bedford and numerous locations on Cape Cod. In addition to composing a musical many years ago, I have been musical director for many shows including Grease, Once Upon this Island (which I also stage directed) and Godspell. I have directed, arranged for, and performed in numerous classical ensembles (see www.triograzioso.com) jazz, pop and gig band situations.
