I am a Physical Education and Health teacher, with over 12 years of experience, who has also worked in the Personal Training industry. For the last two years, I have been focused on teaching Physical Education and Health to elementary students (Grades K-4).I currently teach at Empowerment Academy Charter School in Jersey City. Alongside my role as a Physical Education and Health teacher, I also serve as a mentor to new members of staff. My key successes during this position include:- Overhauling Scope of Practice for 18 PE and Health Units – Grades K – 4 per NJSLS 2020. - Planning and coordinating annual Field Day, Virtual and In-Person Family Fitness Night, and 2 AHA Kids Heart Challenge events for 625 students raising over $15,000.- Being selected as a recipient of an NFL Play 60 Grant Award.- Advising three new staff members.- Designing 4 differentiated Grade Level Non-Participant sheets to increase student engagement and grades.Aside from teaching, I am an avid language learner and am currently taking lessons in intermediate French and Spanish. I play piano and like to work out regularly.
