Responsible for the AWS S3 Customers. That means being responsible for three groups. First, the AWS S3 service team which means aligning customer issues across the S3 Access team, S3 Index team and S3 Storage team. Second, the Support Org from the perspective of our customers of S3 across the world. And finally, enabling the Sales teams - Storage SMEs, Storage AEs, and Storage Solutions Consultants and TAMs. But ultimately my team was built to shepard the experience of our customers as pertains to S3 storage. The S3 Customer team is the final escalation point and part of the S3 Service team with Amazon Web Services. We are obsessed about building systems and services which provide the best possible customer experience.

S3 (Simple Storage Service) provides storage for the internet. A big part of the service is what we term as the Index layer which stores metadata to translate object requests into its physical locations on disk. You might think of it in terms of an analogy an encyclopedia set with trillions of entries. When you begin looking for information, how do you find the piece of data that you were looking for? You probably would start with a few key ideas, and these "information keys" you would use to look in an "index" to find a specific page within the book set "inode". I manage the Index Reliability Engineering team responsible for S3 Index operational issues - durability, availability which are some of the most pressing. Keeping the service running often takes more priority than adding the next feature so we look at operational service issues such as service architecture, monitor fleet health and build tools and services to help manage one of the largest distributed systems on the planet. My group deals mainly with Oracle, SAP and PeopleSoft.

Developed Web Appliances for IBM. Worked on DB2, Java and JSPs.
