I am here to help biotechnology reach its fullest potential and uplift the people around me (and beyond).My fascination with the landscape of possibility - what people can achieve, what molecules can achieve - has always driven me to seek out and master tools that can help solve problems at the limits of human progress. Building on my technical roots in molecular biology and bioprocessing, I’ve spent the past decade developing myself as a leader and have spent the past five years growing a business (overseeing business development, R&D, and operations).I enjoy applying my creativity to devise and implement novel solutions. Nothing demonstrates these abilities better than Machine Bio, an award-winning startup born from my novel intellectual property. But in the spirit of delivering impact, I see my outside-the-box thinking as just one of my many tools. In order to change the world, I am just as excited to bring others’ innovations to life, as I have done throughout my career. I have also learned (the hard way) that often times disruptive innovation isn’t the answer, because the simplest solution is frequently the best solution.Regardless of what solution fits a given problem, the true ‘work’ that gets me out of bed every day is implementation - bringing these solutions to life. I love working with teams and am very comfortable as a leader (I’ve managed up to 6 FTE). I love the challenge of aligning people throughout (or outside) an organization with a vision. Relationship-building comes naturally to me and I’m in my element communicating anything (technical or non-technical) to anyone (technical or non-technical), from informal conversations to passionate public presentations*.I also really enjoy the challenge of aligning those visions with reality.
