• Designing, developing and managing high-quality policy analysis, research, and evaluation projects • Producing a range of high-quality written outputs, including evidence-based policy and research reports, as well as research or policy briefings for a range of audiences (MPs, civil servants, third sector and other stakeholders)• Identifying, building links and managing contact with key stakeholders across the voluntary, academic and policy-making sector to influence policy and practice• Coordinating external stakeholder networks• Horizon-scanning to identify opportunities for influence (e.g. writing responses to government consultations)• Representing Relate to government and other external stakeholders to communicate the organisation’s expertise and influence policy and practiceKey achievements:• Managed, designed, researched and authored two flagship policy and research reports under contract for the DWP (see publications).• Designed a national strategy for measuring outcomes in children’s and young people’s counselling across the Relate federation, identifying and selecting validated outcomes tools appropriate to the service to collect and report on routine outcomes data.• Represented Relate and gave presentations at national and international conferences; invited speaker at an ESRC and Nuffield Foundation seminar to talk about my report on support for separated families for the DWP• Edited and project-managed an important collection of essays from leading figures in parliament, think tanks and research institutes across the sector on how relationships could be put at the heart of policy to inform policy development in the new Parliament.• Project-managed externally commissioned research projects delivered with think tanks and research institutes

- Designing, developing and managing policy analysis, research and evaluation projects to support Relate's influence and visibility and impact and value key priority goals;- Producing a wide range of written outputs including high-quality, well targeted reports, research briefings, literature reviews, blogs and other outputs for both internal and external audiences;- Designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative methods and to undertake research and evaluation assignments that support best practice, service innovation and our influencing activity;- Working with the Head of Policy and Research to establish, promote and maintain contacts with politicians, policy-makers, the sector, and other external agencies to influence policy and practice;- Identifying, building links and managing contact with key stakeholders across the voluntary, academic and policy-making sector;- Preparing briefings and evidence summaries for parliamentarians, policy-makers and other senior stakeholders of publishable standard based on policy analysis, research and evaluation;- Collecting, collating and analysing qualitative and quantitative data from research and evaluation projects;- Providing secretariat to committee groups and to steering and working groups;- Providing support to the Chief Executive and the Director of Policy and External Affairs by drafting speeches, blog posts and policy/research briefings;- Managing policy analysis, research and evaluation projects delivered with third parties such as think tanks or research institutes;- Supporting the design, delivery and review of policy analysis, research and evaluation projects undertaken by Relate Centres who are members of the Relate Federation;- Liaising with internal and external networks to exchange, share and contribute to research and evaluation information and knowledge;- Representing Relate on occasions at its own and external events;

Family policy researcher, leading the family policy research stream of the CSJ's 'Breakthrough Britain II' policy research project. I was co-author of the major policy report 'Fully Committed? How government could reverse family breakdown' (http://www.centreforsocialjustice.org.uk/publications/fully-committed-how-government-could-reverse-family-breakdown), which made policy recommendations to all political parties on how to strengthen family life. I managed the Family Working Group, and in addition to authoring and researching major policy reports, my wider role included:- Actively forming partnerships with key stakeholders in family policy and in politics, including MPs, Peers, and civil servants- Policy briefings and media preparation- Supporting fundraising activities- The delivery of events at party conference and in events with keynote speakers
