Choosing Cerner again was a great choice as I've joined the Technology Infrastructure Network Services and Delivery team. It is a fantastic opportunity to put my training to good use as I assist with the development of redundancy circuits for private client services in seven stateside locations.Additional duties include: • Determining capacity limits for network circuits • Analyzing bandwidth trends in traffic • Updating circuit inventory in collection tools

As the face and representative of Information Technology at Claflin University, customer service remains a priority while performing day-to-day duties, including installing hardware and software systems, maintaining or repairing equipment, troubleshooting a variety of computer issues, setting up computer security measures, and configuring computer networks.

In my third summer as a Velocity System Engineer Intern, I joined the Infrastructure Services Project Delivery team, conducting server-building tasks according to client-focused specifications. These servers were used for client-facing services delivering live patient and medical data.Other build services include: • Using vSphere software to create virtual machines • Allocating SAN storage space • Executing scripts and installed software specific to the service request

Providing word-class digital medical records to medical centers around the globe with a 99.999% service uptime guarantee is no small feat. My role as an intern at Cerner consisted of learning and practicing lifetime management and process skills geared toward technology and the people who use it.From direct customer support to building hardware infrastructure for oncoming clients, the role prepared me for work in the global technology industry.
