CarePredict is an Enterprise/Consumer SaaS company that solves a significant challenge for senior care – identifying precursors to declines in health using a wearable device designed for seniors along with on-site sensors and proprietary machine learning (ML / AI) analysis.Managed CarePredict’s on-shore and off-shore Data Science, Software Engineering and Firmware Engineering teams (~20 people) in Menlo Park, Ft. Lauderdale, India and Poland. Collaborated closely with CarePredict’s CEO and COO / Head of Product on roadmap definition and execution.Led the company’s Data Science team in developing / productizing algorithms to monitor seniors’ daily activities such as eating (using gesture recognition), sleeping (through arm movement analysis) and social interaction (through sensor-based contact tracing).Led efforts to use machine learning for real-time fall detection of seniors as well as complex algorithms for predicting fall risk and other health conditions such as UTI / depression risk.Managed the development of CarePredict’s @Home consumer mobile application from concept to launch using Reactive Native for cross platform compatibility (the product received a CES Innovation Award in 2020 & 2021).CarePredict's back-end systems are hosted on AWS in US / Canada / Japan and the primary technologies used were globally distributed Java / Node.js application servers, Python / R for modeling and analysis, Kafka for server communication and distributed MySQL clusters for data management.

Founded Chip Shield to help banks address the growing threat of e-commerce credit card fraud by extending the use of credit card chip readers for at-home transactions.Helped define the company's product, marketing and business development strategy and led the technology implementation with a small team of experienced hardware and software engineers.Demonstrated Chip Shield on stage at the Finovate technology conference in 2016 and was voted one of the top new products by an audience of 1,500 industry professionals.Launched an MVP version and conducted bank trials with production HW, custom browser extensions and back-end services on AWS but ultimately failed to secure additional funding for the company.

Continued my role as business unit CTO after the acquisition of DeviceAnywhere by Keynote Systems.Responsible for managing multiple engineering teams in the mobile division of Keynote Systems while integrating DeviceAnywhere's mobile monitoring solutions with Keynote's web monitoring product.Led the integration of DeviceAnywhere's automated billing system into Keynote’s financial systems to meet SOX compliance requirements.

Co-Founded DeviceAnywhere, an Enterprise SaaS mobile application testing and monitoring company.Built a distributed Engineering / Operations team from the ground up to 65+ employees with 6 Engineering / IT Directors reporting to me and a ~$10-million-dollar yearly budget.Helped grow revenue to a $19 million yearly run-rate with 1,000+ Enterprise customers and helped secure three rounds of investment totaling $14.5 million. Also served on the Board of Directors.Developed the initial versions of the products using a globally distributed client/server architecture in Java / C++ and helped design custom hardware for mobile device control / virtualization.Authored several patent applications and granted key patents for our core technology.DeviceAnywhere was acquired by Keynote Systems for $60 million in 2011.

Led the design and development of the Brience Mobile Processing Server, which was used to provide real-time content transformations for use in mobile web sites.The Brience MPS was a highly scalable application server developed in C++ / Java and was deployed to serve all content for T-mobile's mobile content gateway during the early years of the mobile web.After over-expanding to 400+ employees during the dot-com boom, Brience failed to raise additional funding and as one of the last 10 employees I assisted in the sale and support of the company’s technology assets to Telecommunications Services, Inc. in Tampa, FL.
