Worked with a team of people at Independent's Hall (http://indyhall.org), a coworking facility in Philadelphia, PA, to establish and develop IndyHall Labs (http://labs.indyhall.org), a company based on removing the barriers to independent developers, designers, usability experts, writers, and other professionals who want to come together to design and develop products. Co-wrote "Mr. E-commerce", IndyHall Labs' double-ledger based revenue sharing, auto-software-licensing, e-commerce software, helping enable the first collaborations to come out of IndyHall. Team lead, project manager, and primary developer on three software projects:- MultiFirefox (http://davidmartorana.com/multifirefox/) which received accolades from the web development community, was featured on many sites such as Lifehacker, Engadget, and The Unofficial Apple Weblog, and has been downloaded over 100,000 times.- Multiplex (http://multiplexapp.com), the acclaimed DVD management tool, which was recently submitted for consideration in the 2009 Apple Design Awards for software excellence.- Twistori Desktop (http://twistoridesktop.com), a Twitter visualization utility, which was a collaboration between IndyHall Labs and Slash7, the creators of the original Twistori (http://twistori.com).Also created and co-host the IndyHall Labs video podcast "Two Guys On Beer" (http://twoguysonbeer.com) which has been in production for over a year and will begin syndication in major media markets during the second quarter of 2009.

Responsibilities included re-factoring and new development of the code for The Neat Company's flagship product, NeatReceipts. Implemented basic standard software development practices, revised clunky interface elements, and hunted down and corrected performance issues.

From time to time, brought in to help manage and write software for large clients in the pharmaceutical industry. Projects included e-learning software and company and drug-related websites.

Responsibilities included management and development of intranet and internet sites, developing multilingual and cross-cultural capabilities into existing software, and management of underlying technology on large projects. Managed small teams - sometimes out of the country - and travelled around the world managing software projects and deploying software as it was developed.

Managed a small team of developers and was directly responsible for the deployment and ongoing development of the website and e-commerce system, transference of data between the front-end system and order fulfillment systems, and the on-demand streaming video project, Films On Demand.
