I am a creative who has a great analytical mind with a prowess for technology. Forced into technology as a designer trying to make things work, I found that creatives need technology and the use of technology is creative. I love this duality. I started out with a love of typography. Once I started to recognize the diversity of fonts out there, I could not help but be drawn to the beautiful artistry. Every font change brings tone and voice to our advertising and art. I am fascinated by the technology that we use to scan, design, output, and deliver our marketing materials. I have devoted my career to learning to exploit the technology we use and after 30 years, have become as much of an expert as anyone can be.Through the years of production and design, I have had to manage my own IT as few people have my experience to navigate the systems and software. As new technology comes out every day, my love for tech now mirrors my love for type. Digital asset management, automation, database design, user experience design, systems architecture, servers, networking, and desktop support all surround creative design. Technology and design are inexplicably connected. It is vital to have someone who is creative and technical. I believe that my combination of these skills are rare and give me an edge today.
