Mr. McDaniel was the software development lead for the engagement planner and engagement execution software for several US Navy cruiser and destroyer classes. This real-time software planed and executed simultaneous missile and gun engagements taking into account many constraints and goals to optimize the ship’s firepower. He designed, programmed, debugged, and module tested the software. He supported acceptance testing, system integration testing at the Navy integration labs, and live missile firing support aboard ships.
