A highly experienced and well-connected senior film and television drama producer and executive producer who has held a number of leadership roles in the film and broader cultural sectors. David's career to date has ranging from producing numerous film and television productions, leading the film, television and animation sector's trade representative, lobbying and members’ services organisation, co-founding a film production company and Ireland’s largest film festival, in addition to being CEO of one of Ireland’s foremost internationally renowned cultural events and a major national cultural venue.David is a director of the leading Irish film and television drama production company Metropolitan Films International, through which he has produced, executive produced or co-produced television dramas and feature films, including: Season Two of ‘Wednesday’ for MGM & Netflix; both seasons of the multi award-winning ‘KIN’; 'Redemption' for ITV, which won the best drama award at the 2023 RTS Awards; ‘Harry Wild' seasons one to three; 'Moonhaven' for AMC; and the feature films ‘Anniversary’, for Fifth Season and Lionsgate, and ‘Silver’ for Amazon.David’s current projects include executive producing season four of ‘Harry Wild’, co-producing ‘How to get to Heaven from Belfast’ for Hat Trick Productions and Netflix, Executive Producing ‘Infraction’ with Tall Story Pictures for Channel 4, ITV Global & VMTV, and producing, in association with Cuba Pictures, ‘The Walsh Sisters’ for BBC, RTÉ, Screen Ireland and Cineflix. David previously gained extensive production experience working with leading Irish production companies, including Hell’s Kitchen, on Jim Sheridan’s ‘The Boxer’, Ferndale Films, on Pat O’Connor’s ‘Dancing at Lughnasa’, and as head of production in Irish Screen he co-produced the films ‘When the Sky Falls’, 'Vicious Circle', 'The American', ‘Puckoon’ and the drama series ‘Aristocrats’. Through his own production company, Distinguished Features, he produced a number of films, including 'Dead Bodies', with Andrew Scott winning the best actor IFTA, and the Alan Gilsenan directed 'Zulu 9', having previously produced Alan’s earlier feature film 'All Souls’ Day'. David is a former CEO of Screen Producers Ireland and is the Chair of its Film and Television Drama Committee. He is a member of the Steering Group of the National Talent Academy (East) for Film & TV. and was recently appointed to the board of the Irish Film and Television Academy. David also co-founded, and was the chair for the first five years, of the Dublin International Film Festival.
