About David Diez

I've worked at YouTube Data Science for over 11 years, with 7+ years of TL experience and 3+ years of management experience. I moved back into a TL/IC role in 2019 and currently serve as one of the "uber TLs" for our 100+ person team. My largest product contributions over my time at YouTube are around Fan Funding, Trust and Safety, Comments, Marketing, Channel Subscriptions, Paid Subscriptions, Community Posts, app redesigns, and metrics design. In my spare time I have managed OpenIntro since 2009, a nonprofit that has over a dozen active members. We develop free educational resources, such as open-source textbooks, free videos, etc. My current role focuses on overall operations, expanding our scope into new subjects, and website development. OpenIntro's impact on student savings is ~$2 million per year across its books.
