Working at The Ansel Adams Gallery was a summer job during my 2015 and 2016 breaks from college. Worked as a retail employee. Duties Included: - Handling cash, selling retail merchandise, operating a cash register- Closing out cash registers at the end of the day, preparing remittance reports- Processing invoices and checking in new inventory- Restocking products on the gallery floor - Greeting visitors and welcoming them to the park as they entered the gallery- Answering visitor questions about both the gallery and Yosemite in general. Questions included subjects such as shuttles, hike advice, directions, photoshoot locations, dining, lodging and camping options, ranger programs, and photo walks.- Conveying park resource protection messages to visitors of the Gallery- Upkeep and cleaning of work area for safety and appearance

Worked on a nine person team performing trail maintenance, office assistance, buildings and grounds maintenance, general labor. Trail maintenance work included building/repairing trails, rock work, digging drainages, building retaining walls, and scaling. Buildings and grounds work included building retaining walls, trimming trees and bushes, clearing brush.

Assist with residential evacuations during wildfire incidents, provide information to residents about evacuation and re-entry; perform search and rescue operations for lost and injured individuals, training in technical mountain and swift-water rescue. Cordon off and staff closed areas.

Assisted in the Yosemite Dispatch Center, the busiest dispatch center in the National Park Service, answering telephones, filing, and running office errands in support of law enforcement, fire, and search and rescue operations. Telephone duties were non-emergency calls relaying information about current operations and weather conditions.
