My favorite word is "why". I strive be thoughtful in all that I do, making sure I have a clear "why". Why did I become a software engineer? My dad introduced me to basic web design when I was very young. I discovered that it helped me express my creativity in a way that my wonderful LEGO blocks didn't. I didn't know the word for it at the time, but now I know that word is "scale". I love that a small team can build software for millions of people in a matter of weeks. That's unheard of for other engineering disciplines. Why do I love Product? I'm observant while using the various products that fill my daily life. My daily observations power my empathy for others and how they will use the software I build. The smile on a delighted user's face is a spark that motivates me!Outside of software engineering, these topics are important to me: education, personal finance, personal fitness, streaming music and video, photography, concerts, and video games. I love using my engineering skills to improve these parts of life for myself and others.
