I have been working on game development in my personal time 7 days a week with few breaks. Having taken online courses in Unity, I began work on a semi-open world RPG (3d, third-person) with non-violent themes, character relationship building, exploration, mysticism, and many other elements. Having taken online courses in Unity, I began work on a semi-open world RPG (3d, third-person) with non-violent themes, character relationship building, exploration, mysticism, and many other elements. Deciding that I had tackled something beyond a beginner's capabilities, I set it aside (it is quite functional, but there are only four fully developed scenes and nowhere near enough to call it a playable game). I began work on a VR space racing game, something which is far more tightly bounded, and am much further along (I have Steam integration, four racing spacecraft, racecourse support, a racecourse editor, multiplayer support and the start of AI racers, as well as all the VR support needed for these). I anticipate something that can be played solo by the end of this year, and multiplayer support mid-next-year. My goal is to evaluate it, pass it to carefully chosen colleagues for feedback, and, based on information I've gathered, decide whether to pursue crowdfunding. In the meantime, I'm considering creating a Patreon project for my game development work and will advertise it as widely as possible. Show less
