I helped maintain the grounds around the extension office of Brown County. I mowed the lawn; pulled the weeds (manual and chemical); planted trees, perennials, and shrubs; pruned trees, shrubs, and perennials; watered trees, shrubs, and perennials; prepared a small test plot; recorded climate data; applied mulch and woodchips to various areas of the grounds; and controlled pests (manuals and chemical).

I planted plants by hand, using an automated potting machine, and field planter. I spaced plants in cold frames. I graded plants, and separated them according to quality. I also weeded plants.

I conducted genetic research on Arabidopsis mutants. I extracted RNA from plant tissue. I Converted RNA into C-DNA. I ran C-DNA through PCR machines. I conducted gel-electrophloresis. I compiled data and wrote a professional research journal entry based off of the results of my experiments.
