My mind has always been passionate for critical thinking and curious to understand everything, which is perhaps why I've always had a fervent interest in science from since I can remember. My dream job was always something science-related, starting with paleontology when I was little, to forensic science in my early adolescence, and now hoping to be an Internist. Although largely different, these three professions all stuck out to me because they required the elementary skills of science: consistent problem solving and creativity—whether it be for making a real-life Jurassic Park, analyzing a messy crime scene, or treating a patient in critical condition. Although they interest me for the same reasons, I've decided that I want to be a doctor because it is one of the few jobs where I can apply science, help people at the most basic level, and never have a day that's exactly the same.My passion for science coupled with my experience of healthcare both in the U.S. and in my home country of Venezuela have led me to write multiple research papers on antibiotics/bacteria and helped me acquire a rich perspective into the pros and cons of different types of healthcare systems and doctor-patient interactions of both countries.Kickstarting my pathway to become an Internist, I'm pursuing a degree in Biochemistry at the University of Florida, hoping to get involved in research, shadowing, volunteering, and studying abroad to become a more well-rounded individual capable of becoming a doctor.
