David Miachika is a partner at the Vancouver office of Borden Ladner Gervais, LLP. He is an active member of the Construction, Engineering, Surety & Fidelity Practice Group at BLG and was the Regional Leader from 2004 to 2008. His legal practice is focused on construction and real estate dispute resolution and related matters such as builders liens, construction deficiencies, leaky condominiums/buildings, delay and acceleration claims, professional liability of architects and engineers, insurance law and coverage, sureties and bonding, commercial arbitrations and mediations, Strata condominium and other real property disputes. David has successfully represented developers, purchasers, contractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, landlords, insurers, sureties, property owners, property managers and strata corporations in all levels of court in British Columbia. He acted as lead counsel in over 120 building envelope claims including lead plaintiffs’ counsel on behalf of the BC Provincial Government in resolving 150+ leaky school claims. Prior to his law career, David worked for Dillingham Construction and several other major construction companies as a Project Engineer and Superintendent on significant construction projects in British Columbia and Nova Scotia such as the Revelstoke Dam, Quintette Coal and Expo '86.
