I love helping physical therapists grow in their critical thinking and manual therapy skills. I am also obsessed with helping El Pasoans keep active, healthy and mobile while avoiding unnecessary surgery, injections and medications. I didn't know anything about Manual Therapy when I started in physical therapy school. It wasn't until my first clinical rotation that I was exposed to it...and I fell in love with it. It was such a contrast from working & volunteering in clinics that mainly saw post-operative cases and the focus was on getting patients back to walking again or using their arms after that neck or shoulder surgery. I began to see how Manual Therapy skills can be used to help people early on to AVOID having that surgery or procedure that is really just temporary relief. As I began my career as a PT, I dove straight into advanced training in Manual Therapy because I felt like I was born to do it. It came naturally to me and I even loved teaching it. (I still do!)After working for several years in Austin, TX, I moved back to my hometown of El Paso, TX to raise my kids near family. While getting a feel for the PT landscape, I realized there was a great need for a Manual Therapy based clinic that focused on helping people avoid surgery, medicaitons and injections. The people of my hometown need this healthcare option available and the PTs in the area need access to this specialty knowledge so that the greater community can benefit. If you're a PT and you're interested in learning more about Manual Therapy. I invite you to search for our free Facebook community where I post regularly about research related to manual therapy as well as how-to videos on manual therapy techniques. Just search "Manual Therapy Interest Group" on Facebook and request to join.I love meeting new physical therapists and aspiring manual therapists. Reach out and connect with me or private message me if you want to chat more!
