Business TeacherWooster School Sep 2021 - PresentDanbury, Ct, UsI taught two courses in Business Planning (Intro/Advanced) to upper school students. In the Intro course, the students worked in groups to create a business plan for a "hoodie" business. In the Advanced course, the students organized themselves into business functions such as sales, marketing, and operations to create their own enterprise. The first was a school store, the second was a café. I developed the course based a curriculum I developed as the co-founder of MBAPlans, a business plan writing and consulting company that was around from 1999 to 2001. The core teaching for high school students was what I call the "Essential Business Equation (EBE)" which is Revenue - Expense=Profit, articulated more colloquially as "Money coming IN, minus money going OUT equals money in the BANK."All business have to manage the EBE or they will fail. The students really responded to this framework (and other things we did in class). All in all a very rewarding experience that I'll go back to some day. -
