I'm responsible for managing the Infrastructure Solutions Lab in Anixter's Glenview headquarters, focusing on our large demonstration room. Our lab is designed to provide independent testing, prove out new concepts, and to show off new technology to our customers. Our technology strategy group helps identify upcoming technology to evaluate how it may provide value to our customers. We currently demonstrate a variety of technologies, including IP audio and video, access control systems, structured cabling products, PoE lighting, industrial automation, and more.

Part of the North American engineering team of Anixter, a $6 billion global distributor of communications and security products, electrical and electronic wire and cable, and fasteners.Responsible for analyzing and fixing technical problems, creating technical content, reviewing specifications, minimizing liability issues, and providing value-added services to maintain Anixter's reputation as the technical leader across the industries we serve.

Took time off from regular corporate work to increase my technical computing skills. Self-directed learning to increase competence of web-based development, including Python, Linux/Apache, SQL, Javascript, CSS, and HTML. Worked with mobile application development company on small projects.

Provided engineering leadership for product and equipment in Belden's cells for manufacturing coaxial cable. Manufacturing processes included insulating, braiding, planetary cabling, and jacketing.

Designed and developed communications cables, with a focus on Belden's broadcast markets.

Worked about 30 hours of the week cleaning rooms, making beds, and folding laundry. Spent the summer in Branson as part of the Ozark Lakes Summer Project, a Christian missionary activity facilitated by the organization now known as Cru.
