• Subcontractor and material procurement – Located on site of a 7.5km long rail line project, Iwas preparing Requests for Quotes, doing market research and negotiating withsubcontractors via phone, email and in person. I was making decision matrices and timeschedules to effectively communicate the results with the Project Engineer and I was alsosupporting him in the preparation of contracts. During the construction phase I wasresponsible for ordering various materials each day, such as concrete, steel reinforcementand other cast-in products.• Design review and sketching – Checking the viability of IFC drawings, communicating withdesigners on a daily basis to find the ideal solution for each design issue. Preparing to-scalesketches using Sketchup and AutoCad to communicate ideas to the design team andsubcontractors.• Safety and quality assurance – Liaising and planning ahead with the site Foreman to achievesafe and smooth running of daily construction activities. Using the government-specificstandards for quality assurance for concreting, piling, bridge deck and steel structureinstallation works. Continuous checking of the conformance of materials used and controllingthe work being carried out by the subcontractors. Comparing the technical description and themethod statement of their work with the on-site situation. Opening, managing and closing lots,inviting the Independent Verifier and Client to various phases of construction works. Visitingthe precast concrete supplier yards and preparing manufacture-quality reports with photodocumentation from the visits.

• Cost estimation – Preparing the pricing of a 30k m2 factory building based on a tender BOQ• Design review – Checking the viability of execution, the reinforcement design in monolithicconcrete structure, and optimising steel structure design.• Subcontractor and material procurement – Located on site of a 100k m2 BTO project, I waspreparing tender packages and BOQs, doing market research and negotiating with subcontractors via phone, email and in person. I was making decision matrices and time schedules to effectively communicate the results with the project manager. I was also supporting him in the preparation of contracts.• Safety and quality assurance – Continuous checking of the conformance of materials used and controlling the work being carried out by the subcontractors. Comparing the technical description and the method statement of their work with the on-site situation. Visiting the precast concrete supplier factories and preparing manufacture-quality reports with photo documentation from the visits.• Office work – Assembling design packages for handover to the client; preparing as-built documentation of the various construction phases; preparing punch lists for the subcontractors.• Other assistance – Substituting the project manager on client and subcontractor meetings and interpreting communications/meetings in other languages. I was making suggestions to improve design, to speed up construction and improve profitability.
