Provides work direction for all electronic technicians for the maintenance of Metro Transit's Light Rail Transit (LRT) signals system. Works with maintenance and operations to coordinate and plan activities necessary to provide appropriate system performance. Performs work related to the installation, adjustment calibration, testing fabrication, preventative maintenance, on-line troubleshooting and repair of all electronic systems of LRT signals •Responsible for identifying current and future maintenance requirements including coordination of major repairs, inspections and modifications and monitoring associated contracts. •Monitors maintenance activities to ensure compliance with maintenance goals. •Keeps Manager informed of maintenance progress through verbal and written communications. •Assists Manager, SCADA/Signals/Communication in establishing, implementing and accomplishing technical performance objectives. •Develops, recommends and implements both routine and emergency work procedures; ensures that all concerned parties are aware of maintenance or repair work which may affect the current shift, operations, other departments and appropriate outside agencies. •Monitors troubleshooting and repairs of the LRT Signals system failures.•Participates in the development of maintenance training materials, maintenance procedures and maintenance budgets, conduct technical training. •Ensures compliance with safety regulations and safe work practices in all working situations; prepares reports on any incidents or emergencies which may occur and participates in meetings, discussing such incidents; establishes guidelines and ensures compliance with quality standards, methods, policies, and procedures.•Maintains quality assurance by ensuring that inspections are conducted, statistics are reported; employees are counseled; and that all electronic maintenance work for the LRT Signals system is performed in an efficient and proper manner.
Scada Signals/ Communication Electronic Technician
Install, inspect, maintain, repair, provide diagnostic analysis reports, replace or modify electronic and electrical components and defective parts for Light Rail Transit (LRT) wayside signaling, communications and SCADA system equipment. The list of equipment include but is not limited to all electrically operated track switches, track switch heater, track switch controller, interlocking signal, track circuits, signal equipment house equipment, signal and signal controller, grade crossing and grade crossing controller, fire and security system equipment, telephone system equipment, fiber optic network system equipment, public address system equipment, and CCTV system equipment. Respond to service emergencies providing online troubleshooting and repair of all electronic, electromechanical equipment of wayside LRT systems. Such systems include but are not limited to signal, communications and SCADA. Repair electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic systems of LRT wayside signaling, communication and SCADA system equipment. Operate various vehicles and equipment associated with maintenance and repair of LRT wayside signaling, communication and SCADA system equipment. Energize and de-energize traction power systems and apply grounding system for safe work area. Operate office equipment Repair test equipment Maintain parts inventory and computer inventory records Prepare various activity status reports Attend safety and training meetings; participate in emergency preparedness systems.
