After serving SmithBucklin for more than 10 years while in an agency setting, I was asked by the company to become its chief marketing officer.

While at Healy & Schulte (see below) I founded Accelerator8, a service that offers professional service professionals an easy, highly effective way to build their practices by enlarging and engaging their professional networks. Through this experience I developed new thinking on how social media can be practically and powerfully used for building businesses.

I developed and delivered highly effective marketing, public relations and internal communications programs for clients ranging from consumer products companies and large trade associations to law, accounting and wealth management firms. Our success was due in part to the effectiveness of a proprietary research and planning process I developed that delivers breakthrough programming.

At Weber Shandwick I managed the largest account group in the office, which handled international professional services marketing and communications programs for clients including Michelin, Northwest Airlines, the Specialty Care Coalition (specialty care doctor) and Calypte Healthcare. In the professional services arena, our portfolio also included international firms such as Perkins Coie, Price Waterhouse, Alexander Proudfoot and Philip Crosby Associates. The company chose me to serve as the Washington, DC representative on both the standing company-wide new business team, and on the special unit to investigate Internet opportunities. I also was responsible for compiling a monthly marketing insights report for the senior-most executives at Sharp Electronics.
