I work on a web platform for a distributed system of wireless control devices (light switches, thermostats, etc.) for the hospitality industry. I use Microsoft Azure-based tools and build RESTful APIs to provide hotels and hotel managers a convenient way to monitor their buildings’ health and energy costs. • Develop backend for hotel building health dashboard showing device failure status, device battery level, room occupancy, and more using ASP.NET MVC• Design REST APIs for integration partners, which allows third party vendors to control and monitor devices in hotel rooms• Re-architecting legacy code in order to eliminate technical debt and implement new features• Building backend event processing rules with Azure Event Hubs for data analysis and health reporting in C#

As an intern, I squashed bugs. I was solely responsible for finding and fixing serious outstanding issues in our code. My fixes and code cleanup dramatically improved our product’s performance. I also developed two additions to our IoT controller that are currently used in production environments today in over 7500 rooms at 25 hotels.• Implemented low level Z-wave (Wireless communication protocol) library for use with room controller in Java.• Created Java application that interfaced with room controller via a physical daughterboard. • Wrote database migrations in order to prepare the data model for new functionality
