(NYSE:MPO) is an independent exploration and production company focused on the application of modern drilling and completion techniques to oil/liquids-prone resources in previously discovered yet underdeveloped hydrocarbon trends. The Company is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with regional offices in Texas, and Oklahoma.Responsible for the strategy, management, and execution of the IT function at Midstates Petroleum. My key responsibilities include overseeing technical projects to ensure alignment with the organizational goals, effective delivery of networks, system security, disaster recovery, process improvements, SOX compliance, and ITGC (IT General Controls). I supervise a team of highly effective IT professionals that maintain the network infrastructure, desktop support, application support, and the ERP system. I work closely with management, external vendors, and advisors to research and identify technologies to streamline the process of transforming data into actionable information.• Recruited a new IT team in Tulsa• Improved Network, and email stability from 97.81% to 99.99%.• Implemented ERP Training for new employees during the transition from Houston to Tulsa.• Conducted a major upgraded of the Enertia ERP working with all the departments.• Reduced cost by $600K annually by reducing or renegotiating vendor subscriptions and services.• Implemented a Security Awareness training program.• Managed the ERP Fresh-start Accounting project to handle pre and post-bankruptcy rules. • Implemented O365 and a new phone system providing an annual savings of 15K per year. • Reduced server count by 40% (20 Server) by combining like services resulting in a reduced maintenance and licensing cost of $33K per upgrade cycle. • Replaced Oracle ESSBase with Power Pivot & SQL Server reducing support costs by $52K / year.• Reduced Operating field costs by $500K / year by replacing eLynx SCADA with Ignition and AutoSol.
