My position at DAI has allowed me the opportunity to architect our project management suite, bringing the application forward from 20th century designs to a modern framework while maintaining reliance on the strong security model of Notes. Our projects take place around the world, often in low-connectivity environments, where the Notes replication model is key to keeping our data up to date. The legacy design used none of the modern tools available, but I have been able to bring in more modern technologies, such as Bootstrap, REST services and javascript frameworks to deploy a more robust, responsive and useful application suite.

Designed front-ends in Java and XPages for Lotus Notes databases for browser client access for the Social Security Administration. Created templates for documenting existing and future systems throughout the system development life cycle (SDLC). Wrote requirements documents and designed test cases to meet those requirements.

Architected, designed, developed, tested and implemented solutions to meet business requirements using Lotus Notes databases in Notes/Domino 8.5 for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Solutions included workflows, surveys, collaboration, portals, and user account management, utilizing Notes-client and browser-client databases. Recruited from Centretek Solutions to Kenrob Associates in 2008 and to L-3 in 2009, as the contract changed hands.

Recruited to KENROB on FAA contract from the subcontracting company (Centretek).

Developed Notes browser-client databases and utility programs to enhance the capabilities of the Notes administrators for the FAA using Notes/Domino 6 and 7.

Designed databases in Lotus Notes and administered Lotus Notes servers for the Blackberry team in Public Buildings Services in the General Services Administration.

Developed Notes databases and performing server administration tasks on SameTime, web-enabled databases, Notes R5 conversions, workflow, and server configurations for clients in the federal contracting industry. Client work included conversion of databases from Access and Clipper into Notes, replacement of Percussion Powerflow with workflow in LotusScript and automated mailings from CSV files and network administration and maintenance.• Brainbench - Wrote questions for Brainbench's Lotus Notes R5 Application Development exam. The exam comprises 135 questions on all non-script aspects of Notes development.• Bureau of the Census - Developed new applications and modifying existing applications to enhance performance for the Office of Telecommunications. • Department of State: Worked on the architecture phase of the Global Collaboration project.• Hands on DC: Developed and implemented a Lotus Notes/Domino database for 50 members of Hands on DC's Organizing Committee to record, track and update information on over 500 projects carried out at 50 DC Public Schools by 3,000 volunteers. Supervised the development of a problem-tracking database for Hands on DC.

Worked as a Developer (1997-1999) and network administrator (1994-1997) with COMSYS Technical Services. Developed and administered BestNet, Mobil’s internal best practices Notes database suite, allowing teams to work between business units to determine best practices to be implemented world-wide, including replication to third-party servers in the UK, Japan and Saudi Arabia. The development work included LotusScript and multiple databases. Conducted administrator and end-user training for BestNet at several locations, including Mexico City and Hamburg, Germany, varying from one-on-one training to stand-up sessions. Performed NetWare, Notes and cc:mail administration.• Taught the Lotus Notes R4 Applications Development I class, using a team project to assist the students in learning not only Lotus Notes, but also software development techniques and teamwork.

Served as Co-director of a 3,000-volunteer service project raising scholarship funds while painting, landscaping and performing other projects at DC Public Schools.

Served as a Network Engineer on the KX LAN at the General Services Administration (GSA), maintaining a six file server network and performing cc:mail administration. Provided direct support to end-users, installed office automation software conducted technical research and performed system administration. Installed and tested help desk, network management and software metering packages.

Supported the CLAIMs development team on a contract through Computer Data Systems, Inc. Worked with the developers to trouble-shoot and implement the Windows portions of the software. Administered the client approval copy of the database, which used Novell's Btreive. Served as a Network Engineer on INS's Headquarters LAN/WAN, installing, upgrading and managing several NetWare file servers. Served as a beta-tester for NetWare 4.01 for the NetFrame and wrote specifications for NetWare 4.01 implementation at INS.

Served as senior technical consultant in an international relief organization and completed his CNE certification. Tracked contract compliance and performance on a $6 million multi-vendor hardware and custom software development project. Produced project plans and reports, participated in JAD sessions and reviewed design documents for accuracy and completeness. Wrote Standard Operating Procedures for several departments. Managed the installation of Novell networks at 53 sites, of stand-alone PCs at 20 sites, including 10 overseas. Installed NetWare (2.x-3.11) and office automation software at 11 sites.
