Purdue orientation programs facilitate the transition of new undergraduates by preparing them to be academically successful, educating them on their responsibilities, and guiding their integration into campus culture. Ten committee members work year round to welcome 5800+ new students to Purdue by recruiting and training 600+ student volunteers, planning and executing original orientation week programming, and collaborating with professional staff members.My responsibilities included: ➖Planning, curating, and implementing original training and development exercises, retreats, and outcomes to prepare 600+ student volunteers to perform their roles to the best of their ability during the week of orientation ➖ Personally mentoring 10 mid level student leaders➖Working full-time in the summer 2014 alongside Purdue professional staff members to plan and prepare August staff trainings and the actual orientation week that welcomed 5800+ new students➖Represent Purdue University as a paid staff member to new students, their parents, and other Universities' orientation professionals
