I am incredibly passionate about new and emerging technologies in the financial services industry, most notably around the financial crime impacts and the necessary steps needed to ensure NZ remains a safe and sound financial system. Coupled with this I continue to look forward at solutions to serve those whose needs aren't met by the current financial system and the products/services available.My risk experience largely comes from working in the Anti-Money Laundering team at Kiwibank from 2016-2019, working as an Analyst/ Senior Analyst conducting transaction monitoring reviews, PEP checks and suspicious activity reporting. In this role I was also the AML operational lead for the implementation of prescribed transaction reporting (PTR) requirements in New Zealand.Following this I worked as People Lead for the AML Customer Due Diligence (CDD) team to gain wider exposure to the AML environment at Kiwibank. This has then led me to roles across KiwiWealth and Easy Crypto where I have gained a much deeper understanding of risk management across all areas.My current role at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand involves being the lead AML/CFT supervisor for a number of NZ registered Banks, conducting on-site inspections and having regular engagement with our reporting entities to continue enhancing AML/CFT expertise and understanding across the NZ banking system.I look forward to continuing my journey in the financial services sector, with a particular focus on the prevention of financial crime and protecting NZ’s financial system.
