My employment history shows that I quickly learn my job and am soon given more responsibilities. I started as a line cook at Chipotle and a year and a half later, I was the kitchen manager of a store with a perfect facilities score. I was able to bring that score from 43% up to 100% in three months and within budget. At Alamo Drafthouse, I started as a line cook and in under two years, I was a shift lead at the busiest location in the nation, working towards becoming a shift supervisor. With my kitchen jobs, I have gained skills that I put to use in my accounting career. Such as interpreting sales trends, taking charge of neglected projects, providing amazing customer service, and thoroughly training coworkers. I also gained supervisory experience where I was able to identify people’s strengths and assign them tasks that they excel at. At Travis County, with the district clerk’s office, I began by auditing old felony cases and two years later I was in charge of felony court costs and fine collections. The first responsibility I was given at Health and Human services was to reconcile an account that had been neglected for months, with a budget of one and a half million dollars. Through my reconciliation, I was able to balance the account and from that, I created an Excel workbook that would reduce the time needed for this and two other reconciliations by hours. In this position I have gained experience with reconciliations, journal entries, GAAP, SAP, Microsoft Excel, and state financial reporting. Additionally, in all of my jobs I gained proficiency in professional communication with customers, coworkers, direct supervisors, supervisors of other departments, managers, and executives.
