Head Of Business Services, Fm And Operational Procurement ComplianceAllianceboots 2006 - Sep 2011Deerfield, Il, Us•Led the development of the Alliance Boots UK Facilities Management strategy for optimising the management of £75m spend over the next 5 years, across multi-site UK locations. •Led the strategic thinking, commercial negotiations and operational implementation of various company-wide integration initiatives following the merger between Boots and Alliance Unichem, including FM, business travel, GNFR supply, fleet and operational procurement, resulting in a centralised ‘shared services’ solution: unified policies, organisational redesign, operational efficiencies, excellent customer service focus and £20m commercial savings.• Used expert outsourcing knowledge to develop, implement and operate a ‘supplier performance management methodology’, maximising the service delivery from outsource business partners. Core team of 7 contract managers and extended team circa 350 FTEs. Resulted in significant improvement from 25 outsource partners and professional development of the contract managers. This methodology, (aligned to BS11000) has been presented at the European Procurement Leaders and the National Outsourcing Association conferences. Created the Operational Procurement Centre, accountable for processing ~300,000 orders and ~440,000 invoices annually. Created purchasing compliance policies, procedures, governance structures and behavioural change for 10,000 requisitioners. This resulted in increased compliance of spend to preferred suppliers and achievement of ~£20m savings annually.•Outsourced and off-shored the processing of £1.4Bn accounts payable activity. Led the initiative from strategic decision making, through vendor selection to post implementation stabilisation, resulting in significant cost reduction and step-change service improvement.
