After graduating from the University of Delaware in 1981, I worked for several flooring companies. With my own knowledge and the knowledge I gained from my father who was also in the flooring business; I joined BASF Fibers, the originator of solution dyed products, as a Contract Carpet Consultant in 1984. From there, I became Regional Manager for Lotus Carpets, Commercial Dealer Rep for Lasher Carpet and VP for Corporate Carpet Systems.After learning everything I could about the industry, I decided it was time to start my own business and opened the doors of Concorde Flooring Systems which quickly became one of the New York area's premier independent commercial flooring dealers and consultants. During my tenure as President and CEO, I received numerous industry and business awards including the DuPont Antron award and INC. Magazine's award for one of the 500 fastest growing, privately held companies in the USA.Some ten years later, I realized that a smaller, boutique approach to the flooring industry would better fit new industry trends, as well as provide me with the opportunity to bring more upscale, unique products to my clients. Given my understanding of what end-users and architects want and the ability to balance their wishes with what manufacturers can and do produce, I knew just what type of company was in order. And so, Summit International Flooring was born...Specialties: I have been successful because I know flooring from the inside out and personally invest in suppliers that have UNIQUE products. I am constantly sourcing new products to provide my clients with the newest, most distinctive flooring options available; bringing these extraordinary flooring products to the USA and creating a market for them. Demand is generated based on my own experience and individual feel for a product.
