David Olakot, popularly known as Shay Jones, is an Entrepreneur, Music Executive and Brand Executive with a Bsc in Development Studies. Focused on the critical role that both culture and sciences dynamically play in innovation and in addressing social, intellectual, and spiritual challenges, he constantly strives to build connections within the creative fields and the business arena changing the way people engage with the world at large. In pursuing this, he has been able to do what he loves: build successful brands and companies that propose new ways of thinking and working while supporting art, technology and innovation/communities. During his role as an Executive Vice President at Aristokrat Records, some key projects he worked on include:-Aristokrat Records and UMG France joint venture partnership which aims to mine new African talent.-Road Manager for Burna Boy in 2019 on behalf of Aristokrat Group. -Signed on T’neeya, the first female artist to the label. -A&R’d T’neeya’s singles under the label, A&R’d in Ceeza Milli’s Diamond in the Rough album, assisted on the African Giant album in the Aristokrat team. -Also developed Kel-P, 4 time Grammy nominated international Music Producer, who is known for his work on African Giant Album by Burna Boy. -Developed and provided leadership to a new department called Aristokrat Lifestyle for Label Branding -Direction and Merch creation. As a late teenager, David worked at The Brooklyn Circus mens fashion brand - which housed brands such as Nudie Jeans, The Rich Yung society- he developed a knowledge of fashion & brands and currently uses that passion as a Creative/Brand & Image communication Consultant with LIC, a creative company offering brand development and image consulting services.Currently David “Shay” Olakot seats as the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jones Worldwide (JWW), a Lagos-based Artist and Label services company with a goal to focus on an artist incubator programs that promise a hands-on approach towards Artist Development and Brand & Image solutions. JWW currently manages Grammy-nominated Producer Kel-P, award winning singer, Songwriter & Actress Seyi Shay, Universal Music Group/Aristokrat Records signee Ria Sean, amongst other producers and artists. Shay Jones, born in Nigeria, having lived abroad, Obtained a degree in Bachelor of Science Social & Development Studies at the University of Ghana. Shay's Passion include modeling, personal development, travel and exploring new cultures.
