This event, which is one of Africa's largest video game conventions, brought together over 2,000 creatives from across the continent. It was a unique platform for networking, idea exchange, and showcasing the incredible talent within Africa’s gaming and tech ecosystem.At Gamathon 2024, I played a key role in highlighting the event's groundbreaking moments, including the Ark Pitch, where indie developers and game studios pitched their projects to secure prototype grants. As a media partner, I was responsible for capturing and documenting these critical moments and ensuring that the stories and creativity on display reached a wider audience.This experience demonstrated the power of storytelling through media, and how capturing pivotal moments can help shape the future of an industry. It reinforced my belief in the importance of creating platforms that give visibility to underserved communities.
