• Designed, developed, and launched a tubular based MIS TLIF system• Designed and developed an MIS PLIF retractor system • Expanded and launched line extensions to the current lumbar interbody product line and completed all associated Design History File documentation• Managed complaints and incorporated those into product improvements for the lumbar interbody product lines

• Maintained design configuration control by authoring and reviewing design calculations, design drawings, controlled plant documents, and engineering change packages related to mechanical, stress, and piping issues• Performed technical evaluations and calculations for pipe stress, pipe support, and flaw evaluations for primary system piping utilizing programs including pc-CRACK (fracture mechanics), ANSYS, and ME101 (pipe stress)• Lead mechanical engineer on the Replacement Reactor Vessel Head (RRVH) project, a large scope $200 million project to extend the life of the reactor vessels, reduce outage critical path time, reduce radiation exposure, and help meet the SONGS safety goals• As the resident engineer in Kobe, Japan in 2009, facilitated communications between SONGS and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries relating to the design and fabrication of replacement steam generators (RSGs)• Led and collaborated with multi-functional technical teams including consultants, legal, regulatory oversight, engineering, operations, maintenance and procurement as part of the Steam Generator Return to Service project team• Monitored and facilitated coordination of communications and information between multiple technical teams in support of plant response to emergency conditions as Brown Phone Communicator of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) • Supervised construction field teams during refueling outages for disassembly and assembly of low-pressure and high-pressure turbines and provided engineering recommendations for installation issues

• Assisted in the design and evaluation of various components for new eye cataract removal machines that were marketed in 2007• Worked side-by-side with highly respected surgeons to investigate chamber stability in the eye during eye surgeries• Tested and analyzed fluidic and pneumatic systems of new machines

• Created “BMW Vision” product to facilitate exchange of emotional and subjective information through eye contact and facial expression • Filed provisional patent and shipped product to BMW headquarters in Germany for further exploration

• Organized and supervised a four person research group for fracture mechanics to determine fracture toughness using an MTS Hydraulic Frame• Lead author of published paper in Engineering Failure Analysis (EFA) journal: “The Effects of Prolonged Thermal Exposure on the Mechanical Properties and Fracture Toughness of C458” (please see the Publications category for more details)
