  • Stirling Grey
    Business Development Director
    Stirling Grey Jan 2021 - Sep 2022
    London, England, United Kingdom
I was Headhunted by Stirling Grey a year before I took up their offer, we had many discussions to convince me that they were a viable company with a strong reputation in the industry. From day one I knew I made the right decision, when some of my long-established contacts had nothing but admiration for them. I head up the Business Development team, overseeing a team of five, covering the whole of the UK. I report directly to the MD, advising him of marketing and business development strategies to grow the company. In the pandemic year and during lockdown I brought in £30 Million of opportunities. With help from my long-established contacts at: BNP Paribas, CS2, Cluttons, Cushman and Wakefield, Core five and Currie and Brown to name a few. I work on both CAT A and CAT B Projects, via Design and Build and the Traditional project route. I can work as part of a team and leader to working alone to develop opportunities. I am motivated by success and have that never give up attitude.
  • Five Interiors Ltd
    Director Of Business Development
Five Interiors Ltd Jun 2013 - Jan 2021
    London, United Kingdom
When I joined Five, it was known as KL Contracts and was turning over less than £1M, I felt the name didn’t really have impact and made the company appear small, so I come up with the name Five Interiors, which immediately had a positive drive for the organisation. I brought in the first £1M project for Five and have now become known to deal with projects up to £5M in value. I manage a team of Business Development Managers, and report directly to the MD. Some of the clients I have introduced to Five are: BNP Paribas, Land Sec, CBRE, and Google. We are looking to turn over £15M this year and have a national presence. I have instilled confidence in the team and have become an integral part of our successes. I work with various types of companies, End User, Architect, Asset Managers, Developers, Real Estate, Property Consultants, Landlords, QS etc.I work on Cat A, Cat B Projects, as well as dilapidations. I recently brought in a £5M Project, which is the limit the company are willing to go to at this stage. I have had to turn down much larger opportunities.
  • Lateral Concepts
    Business Development Director
    Lateral Concepts Dec 2011 - Jun 2013
    London, United Kingdom
Joining Lateral Concepts was an initial challenge considering the enormity of the task of marketing a company that is relatively unknown; it ticked all the industry accreditation boxes but lacked a name on the high street. Lateral are a fit-out/refurbishment Company based in Canary Wharf, typical project values range up to £5M. In the 17 years since its conception, Lateral hadn’t employed any other Business Development personnel in the past, they relied upon a very good existing client base, but with their eggs in one basket, I was approached to head up and take the company forward in a marketing and new business sense. I had a completely free role, starting with a blank sheet of paper; the role involved revamping all the marketing material, including a new brochure and the Website. But ultimately my responsibility is obtaining new business for the company.
  • Scil
    Business Development Director
    Scil Apr 2006 - Dec 2011
SCIL are a fit-out/refurbishment Company based in the City of London, typical project values range up to £5M, SCIL had employed various Business Development people but didn’t have anyone to take them forward and increase both awareness and Turnover. I stepped into this role with ease using my network of contacts to not only increase sales in the short term, but to develop new Clients with a view to utilising repeat business as one of our company marketing strategies. I brought on board, Land Securities, Atis Real, CBRE, as well as major Corporates i.e. Conoco Philips, ACE Insurance, and Sainsbury’s amongst many others. I was a Fellow member of Placemakers property networking lunch, from which I developed many great business relationships with key people within large organisations. I am an active member of the BCO, and regularly attend the MIPIM Property fair in Cannes. I researched the feasibility of setting up an office in Abu Dhabi so we can extend our business in the Middle East with some new and existing clients. In my employment I brought in approximately £30M of Tenders and secured £16M of work.
  • Cameron Black Ltd
    Business Development Director
Cameron Black Ltd Jan 2001 - Apr 2006
At the start of my employment with Cameron Black, I was given a blank sheet of paper in terms of increasing new business and Marketing opportunities and building a team. The role involved revamping all the marketing material, including tender documentation and the Website. But ultimately my responsibility is obtaining new business for the company. I brought in blue chip clients such as: Land Securities and British Land. Use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems. Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information. Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
