A software consulting firm specializing in software solutions for complex business processes. • Worked on software development projects for a variety of clients such as American Airlines, MCI, Ernst & Young, Beacon Eye Institute, and Cisco Systems. • Converted point of sale application from assembler to Visual C. Client saved thousands of dollars in maintenance costs, because updated application could be maintained by less 
expensive programmers. • Designed, wrote, tested, and deployed Visual C++ custom installation framework to extend base functionality provided by Microsoft installer. Enabled client to perform complex installation and setup of software phone switch system involving multiple reboots and system configuration steps. Entire installation took several hours to complete after answering initial questions. Support staff was free to perform other assignments during unattended installation saving client time and money. • Planned and executed the move of an inflight maintenance operations center for an airline customer. This project required extensive contingency planning to ensure the transition from the old center to the new one did not disrupt flight operations which would cost airline tens of thousands of dollars for each minute of downtime.• Designed, wrote, tested, and deployed Access/VBA reporting application for call center. Application enabled managers to numerous hours reviewing call quality and operator productivity data.

A national software consulting firm.• Worked on numerous software development projects for a variety of clients. • Created custom Visual Basic GUI application to gather branch customer sales data and upload to corporate Great Plains accounting system. This application allowed the client to avoid entering sales data multiple times into disparate systems. • Led a five-person team configuring and installing the computer and networking equipment for a chain of laser eye surgery centers. This work also involved the specifications, ordering, configuration, shipping, and installation of over one million dollars of equipment in ten centers within a 12-month period.

Held managerial positions in Maintenance, Operations, Training, Administration, and Safety departments. Flew over 3,000 hours in H-60, H-1, H-46, H-57, T-28, and C-12 aircraft. Qualified as aircraft commander, standardization instructor pilot, instrument instructor pilot, post-maintenance test pilot, and simulator instructor test pilot. Mission experience includes combat search and rescue, special operations, anti-submarine warfare, and vertical replenishment.

An international provider of computer outsourcing services. • Led a team of seven developers supporting a 25 person General Motors manufacturing tooling designers writing and implementing custom add-ons for a computer-aided design/manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system. • Designed and coded a GUI “hole drilling” add-on for solids-based CAD system using C and X windows libraries. This application allowed users to select standard hole combinations and parameters from a menu, then indicate on the model where hole should be placed. The application would create the fully attributed hole(s) in the model perpendicular to the surface at the selected point. Another program was later used to query the model to create the hole chart for the manufacturing drawings. • Designed and coded a graphical “welding clamp clearance determination” tool for a solids-based CAD system. Application allowed users to visually and mathematically verify clearances for clamps in a welding fixture design.
