This continues to be a worthwhile project installing a much needed system into the depot garages for all First Bus UK wide sites.

Engineering Change Leader currently involved and a worthwhile project to implement a new Engineering Management System into First Bus. The project is designed to introduce a new engineering process that will improve planning and the current engineering systems in the depots nationwide. This will also incorporate improved skill visibility of engineers, better shift management including holidays, training, sickness and communication during shift, daily and weekly reviews. The stores and spares ordering is also encompassed using a deferral system allowing time for parts to be ordered, kitted and made ready for the planned work to begin.

Head of department for Total Production Quality Control (TPQC) and Battery Tray Paint within the main Paint Shop. Immediately responsible for all aspects of the Pre Treatment and Electro Disposition plant for both lines in body paint and Battery Tray. Ensures the chemical systems in both departments are running to specification and are well maintained. Constantly monitors and controls the line speeds and all impacts on the track and sling systems that transport the bodies. Oversees all humidity and temperature as well as booth balancing for the lines and ensures the LEAN and 5S system is adhered to. Controls training, Health & Safety systems, budgets and Standard Ops/Action Standards within the department. Assists with the Paint Shop SSAR, STR and Quality of the product. Employee grievance POC and annual appraisal writing for all department staff.

Directly responsible for all aspects of engineering within the company from fault finding to repair and maintenance to servicing of all military road going equipment on behalf of the higher level organisation. Engineering development of all staff and senior managers including, competencies, experience and qualifications & training. Extensive input in the organisation of technical field exercises, testing and deployments. Customer relations and liaison. Principally responsible for all engineering advice to the senior customer with regards to any issues with his ground equipment availability. Control of all training delivered to the workshop personnel on all specific to role customer equipment. Directly responsible for all workshop output and outcomes.• Planned, organised and ran the entire deployment process in order to adequately prepare the unit workshop for a nine month deployment to the Falkland Islands in order to successfully repair, maintain and service the deployed ground effect equipment.• Exponentially improved the failing working relationship between the customer and the workshop. • Increased workshop productivity through use of engineering principles and good leadership skills.• Established a more efficient training programme to get workshop personnel correctly trained. • Ensured, through liaison with equipment sponsor, that the workshop became adequately resourced with regards to tooling, lifting equipment and calibrated equipment.
