With 18 global offices, TIQ is responsible for identifying and facilitating trade and investment opportunities for the State of Queensland, Australia. In 2011 I took a break from my legal career to establish my own business, a small bar/restaurant. I was solely responsible for all aspects of establishing and running a hospitality business including project management, developing marketing strategies, establishing and monitoring key performance indicators, negotiating supplier arrangements, customer service, accounting, people management, event co-ordination and obtaining and complying with regulatory approvals.

Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, my duties included managing the company’s company secretarial requirements including corporate governance, regulatory compliance and record keeping.

I also advised on general commercial matters for a range of listed and unlisted clients in various industries.
