As a Technical Manager, I serve Advisory Board clients by providing my technical expertise in multiple ways. I am currently leading the health IT strategy for brand work at a pharma company. As part of my position, I also perform the following:• Advised large pharma clients on building their health IT strategy in support of building their brands and relationships with IDNs;• Led training sessions for pharma marketing and brand teams to support their health IT knowledge development;• Provided technical subject matter expertise to create clinical decision support tools and resources that advance population health measures for disease states of interest to pharma clients;• Managed Epic go-live support for the largest IDN in the Ohio Tristate area including coordinating resources, monitoring issues, and compiling and analyzing support metrics;• Developed a provider market entry strategy for a large population health software vendor. Created a project plan, managed the budget, tracked deliverables, performed market research, interviewed potential customers, and created a report with market entry recommendations for the company;• Created strategic proposals and pitch decks for multiple consulting engagements for large healthcare organizations, resulting in multiple projects won for the firm.

Performed root cause analysis to generate and implement solutions to increase patient throughput and satisfaction.-Market Research: Researched a potential pharmaceutical client to find information regarding the company’s finances, competition, and drug pipeline. Presented the market research to the firm CEO to prep him for sales meetings. -Knowledge Management: Developed a list of expertise areas for consultants, surveyed the employees for their expertise, and compiled and analyzed all the data in a convenient tool for staffing projects and recruiting future employees.

-Needs Assessment: Partnered with HR to evaluate the need to protect hospital employees’ records from inappropriate access, assessed clinician user needs, and created a user friendly solution that warned 5000 system users prior to entering a chart while tracking inappropriate access.-Change Management: Created a curriculum consisting of 4 classes to train over 100 medical records staff to effectively use Epic software to manage the $4.5 billion in revenue processed annually through their department.-Process Improvement: Developed a new automated process to efficiently scan in patient signed documents at patient arrival, resulting in reduced time for patients and less effort for registration staff.-Analysis: Designed a full set of detailed patient based workflow testing scripts for testing configuration of the system prior to use in the hospital; discovered dozens of issues, prioritized them, and managed follow-up for quick resolution.-Problem Solving: Managed resolution of a major issue where physician dictations were not interfacing correctly; coordinated all parties involved and followed up to make sure tasks were completed, resulting in quick resolution.-Mentored employees in healthcare software implementation planning, project management, and system setup.

-Contract Management: Executed vendor selection process for a new specialized electronic medical records software for the oncology practices, including coordinating site visits and software demonstrations, and preparing potential budgets.-Project Management: Administered the implementation of new discharge instructions software for the emergency department.-Contract Management: Managed purchasing process for software for integrating vital signs devices with electronic medical records system through coordinating system demonstrations, researching vendors, and preparing a final budget.

-Leadership: Supervised 3 new employees simultaneously to lead Epic implementations with overall budgets ranging from $5.6m to $9.8m successfully; all projects were completed on time and the employees went on to later manage others.-Project Management: Led the fastest implementation at Epic of a medical records application through creation of an aggressive project plan and effective monitoring of tasks to completion.-Knowledge Management: Organized dispersed documentation about scanning, transcription, and coding to create 3 new classes for internal staff to educate Epic staff on these topics

-Team Management: Facilitated solution development for integration with a client’s transcription system and Epic; coordinated meetings to analyze the problem and find a solution, and managed delivery and testing of code fixes.-Client Engagement: Analyzed chart printing issues after first client started using Epic software; found configuration changes and coordinated R&D resources to develop code solutions resulting in 20% smaller charts.-Business Analysis: Analyzed business needs of large multi-hospital healthcare organizations with 1900+ physicians and configured medical records software to meet these needs.
